Description:
- Assists in the maintenance of the general ledger, including calculating, posting, an verifying financial records, meeting all deadlines
- Prepares various accounting statements and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
- Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep sound financial records, using journal and ledgers
- Assists in the preparation of the annual budget including estimating and forecasting budgets
- Reviews the budget for depreciation
- Process invoices, reconcile general ledger accounts, and prepare budget for corporate insurance accounts reviewing for errors and omissions, deductible, and officer life insurance
- Compiles financial data in order to accurately and timely reconcile accounts and compares actual figures to the annual budget providing explanations for discrepancies
- Receives and records cash, checks, and vouchers as needed
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or years of experience equivalent
- Understands industry trends and governmental regulations
- Ability to operate computers programmed with accounting software
- Ability to solve complex analytical problems
- Ability to complete continuing education requirements as needed
- Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions
- Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
- Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft
- Ability to use office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, calculator, photocopier, and facsimile machine
- Ability to work on a computer for a prolonged amount of time
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed
- Legally able to work in the United States
