Lockton is currently seeking a high energy, technical insurance expert to join our Commercial Property and Casualty Team.  The Training Specialist is responsible for conducting internal training programs for new hires and current associates by using a variety of instructional techniques, formats, and platforms.  Lockton’s Training Specialist will lead the design, development and delivery of training programs created to promote a thorough understanding of Property and Casualty commercial insurance coverages and serve as an internal expert in software and systems training tools, methodologies, and approaches.  If you are looking for a position that allows you to play a critical role in the growth and success of our Associates, Clients, and Organization, Apply Today!

 

What is a day in the life of a Training Specialist?

  • Conduct technical insurance coverage and systems training for internal Lockton associates across all locations assigned to the Texas Series through in-person and virtual platforms
  • Design level-specific (early, mid and mastery) training curriculum focused on P&C commercial insurance coverage
  • Develop and implement training procedures, manuals, and course materials to include PowerPoint presentations and other visual materials
  • Present information using a diverse range of instructional technique including team exercises, group discussions, simulations, videos and/or lectures, and one-on-one training and coaching as needed
  • Monitor and evaluate training activities to ensure program effectiveness and encourage learning accountability
  • Collaborate with Talent Development and Lockton Leadership to identify training needs, expectations, and trends
  • Support a culture of curiosity, learning, and engagement for Lockton Texas
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties relating to insurance training, as requested

 

Are you a perfect fit? 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Exceptionally strong working knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance coverages (Auto Liability, Business Income, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Product Liability, Excess Casualty, Umbrella, BOP, General Property); including coverage forms and endorsements.
  • Exposure to or knowledge of other industry verticals to include Energy, Marine, Financial Lines (a plus)
  • Experience working in industry-specific systems to include ReferenceConnect, ImageRight, Nexsure, and Advisen (preferred)
  • Completion of insurance-specific designations preferred (CPCU, CRM, CIC, CRIS or equivalent)
  • Experience in and demonstrated knowledge of instructional design and presentation
  • Familiarity with Learning Management System and other training platforms strongly preferred
  • Advanced technical aptitude (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability and comfortability to present material and information to diverse groups/audiences
  • Effective organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (within US) and have physical presence in a local Lockton office 2-3 days per week
  • Legally able to work in the United States
